History of Paper Quilling
There are many kinds of art forms from painting to sculpting, but paper art can be unexpectedly intricate and beautiful in its own way. Paper quilling is a technique where strips of paper are rolled, shaped, and glued into different shapes and designs. The first known uses of paper quilling date back to Renaissance France and Italy where monks and nuns used paper to decorate books and other religious trinkets.
Later, in the 1700s, paper quilling became a common activity for upper-class women during their leisure time as a way to practice their art skills, an important aspect of becoming a proper lady of society. Paper quilling goes by many names: paper scrolling, filigree, mosaic, and paper rolling. The art form is making a comeback especially with crafters who enjoy intricate work like knitting and crochet. Give paper quilling a try with this fun flower and tea cup quilling craft!

What a cute picture. I would love to make it and put it into a glassed in frame and hang it in the kitchen. It would also be a great gift for a friends kitchen. Everyone loves hand made things and this is inexpensive, easy and very pretty. Thanks for sharing.
