Duo of Snowflakes Christmas Card
This winter, send some Christmas greetings and remind your loved ones of the charm and joy associated with the winter season. Craft this Duo of Snowflakes Christmas Card and bring a smile to the recipient's face this holiday season. Use soft hues of blue, white, and silver for this card, and let it snow! Homemade cards are beautiful way to share the festive season with all your friends and family members. Though it's been said many times and many ways, say "Merry Christmas" with this winter wonderland DIY Christmas card.
Materials:
- 11” x 5.4” white textured cardstock
- 5” sized square cut from blue-and-silver cardstock
- two 10mm clear self-adhesive flat-sided rhinestones
- five 8mm clear self-adhesive flat-sided flower rhinestones
- white scrapbook stick-on ribbon border
- two 1.5” wide wooden snowflakes
- 0.2” wide silver metallic ribbon
- white acrylic paint
- Heritage spray-on contact glue
- Epsom salt
- paintbrush
- pencil
- ruler
- standard scissors
- quick-drying craft glue (such as Bostik Clear)
Instructions:
- Paint the top of the snowflakes with the white paint and allow to dry thoroughly.
- Spray the snowflakes with the Heritage spray-on contact glue. Sprinkle Epsom salt over the glue while it is still wet to add snow to the snowflakes. Shake off excess salt and allow to dry thoroughly.
- Score the white textured cardstock to create a card sized 5.4” x 5.4”.
- Add a strip of scrapbook stick-on ribbon border to the top and bottom of the blue-and-silver square and cut off any protruding edges.
- With the fold at the top, glue the blue-and-silver square to the front of the card.
- Add the five flower rhinestones to the bottom of the card.
- Glue the snowflakes to the card.
- Add a 10mm rhinestone to the center of each snowflake.
- Make a small neat bow with the silver metallic ribbon and glue this at the bottom of the card.
