I tried to make something like this from plastic canvas one time. It turned out pretty but not very functional because it was too bulky and kept falling off the corners of the pages. Paper makes a lot more sense. Since I am forever losing bookmarks, this is something I need to learn so I can just make another one.

I remember making these in high school. They were a lot of fun to make and are very quick to complete. I've sent some onto pen pals in letters throughout the years as well. They make great bookmarks and do not damage the pages. They would make great stocking stuffers for the holidays!

I love these so much. A project like this would be a great introduction to the wonderful world of origami. Though, these look even easier to lose than my actual bookmarks.
