Love Is In The Air Card

This Valentine's Day, check out handmade card ideas to show your sweetheart how much you care. Featuring a heart made of hearts, the Love is in the Air Card tutorial is a great option. There are two little white doves holding a ribbon banner to convey the idea of how love links two people together. This DIY valentine it sure to catch the attention of your special someone, and they will be touched by how much effort you put into letting them know they are loved.

 

Love is in the Air Card

 

Materials:

  • 11.4” x 5.6” Silver Card Stock
  • 5.6” Square of Pink Handmade Paper
  • 5.3" Square of Pink Embossed Foil Paper
  • 5" Square of Red Card Stock
  • 12 Red 0.6" Wide Foam Deco Hearts
  • 12 Light Pink 0.6" Wide Foam Deco Hearts
  • Two 0.6" Wide White Wooden Doves
  • Two 0.4" High Red Wooden Hearts
  • 25" of 0.1" Wide Satin Ribbon
  • Silver Mirror Word ("Love")
  • 3" Tall Heart-Shaped Cookie Cutter
  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  • Quick-Drying Craft Glue (such as Bostik Clear)

Instructions:

  1.  Score the silver cardstock in half to create a card sized 5.6” x 5.6”.
     
  2. With the fold at the top, glue the pink embossed foil paper to the front of the card.

  3. Tear the pink handmade paper smaller and glue to the front of the card.

  4. Place the cookie cutter on the red cardstock and trace around it, and then cut out the heart.
     
  5. Glue the foam hearts to the red heart, alternating between the red and light pink hearts.

  6. Glue the middle of the ribbon to the back of the red heart.
     
  7. Glue the red heart to the front of the card.
     
  8. Twist each end of the ribbon and glue it in place. Cut off the ends neatly.
     
  9. Glue a dove over the end of each side of the ribbon.
     
  10. Glue the silver mirror word in place in the bottom right corner of the card.
     
  11. Add a red heart to the middle of each of the sides of the ribbon.
