Materials:
- A Piece of Patterned Paper Measuring 8” X 18”
- A Few Scraps of Cardstock
- ¼ Inch Double-Sided Tape
- An Assortment of Giftcards
Instructions:
- Start by visiting their favorite coffee house, cupcake bakery, movie house, or yoga studio to purchase the gift cards. The value of each card doesn’t have to be huge - just enough for a latte, smoothie or a single yoga lesson.
- Select a paper that represents your recipient well. I had a word-traveler in mind for this project, and chose to use a sheet of map gift wrap.
- Use your ruler, blade and cutting mat to cut a piece of paper measuring 18 inches wide, and 8 inches high.
- Fold your paper in half horizontally.
- Fold the strip accordion-style, every three inches. Use a bone folder to crease each fold.
- Fold open the paper, and along one of the long sides, slide your XXXX-Large Circle Punch in just a half inch, and punch out a small notch from each folded section.
- With the notched side of the paper at the top, run a strip of double-stick tape along the sides, and along the creases between the sections of the top half of the paper, where indicated in the diagram below.
- Removing the backing from the tape, fold the paper in half horizontally and press and smooth the paper with your hand to adhere.
- Customize the wallet by adding a few punched shapes.
- And fill the pockets of the wallet with gift cards for the recipient!
