Hoo-hoo to You Owl Greeting Card

Materials:

• 3” High Wooden Owl Laser Cut-out
• 10” x 5” Copper Colored Cardstock
• 3.1” x 2.4” Cut from the Same Copper Colored Cardstock
• 4.4” Square Cut from Vintage French Scrapbook Paper
• 14mm Wide Black Musical Notes Self-adhesive Decorative Lace Tape
• 0.2mm Wide Waxed Caramel Colored Cord
• Leftover Piece Of 3” Wide Cream Lace
• 1.4” Wide Bronze Metallic Photo Corner
• Two 0.4” Brown Organza Ribbon Roses
• Pair of 8mm Wiggle Eyes
• Black, Brown; Orange; Leaf Green; Dark Blue and Yellow Colored Felt-tip Pens
• Docrafts Clear 3d Gloss Pen
• Pencil
• Ruler
• Scissors
• Clear-drying Gel Glue (such as bostik clear)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the owl embellishment:

      a. Color the area around the eyes with the green pen.

      b. Color the body and wings with the brown pen.

      c. Add some detail to the owl’s body with the blue and yellow pens, and shade with the brown pen again.

      d. Add some black to the tip of the owl’s ears and to the wings, and shade with the brown.

      e. Color the beak and feet with the orange.

      f.  Cover the whole owl with the clear 3D gloss. Gently pop any air bubbles that might appear with a pin.

     

      g. Gently drop the two wiggle eyes in place and allow to dry for four hours before continuing.

2. Score the 10” x 5” copper colored cardstock in half to create a card sized 5” x 5”.

3. With the fold on the left, centre and glue the square cut from the vintage French scrapbook paper to the front of the card.



4. Glue the lace over the bottom left corner and cut off any protruding edges.

5. Glue the metallic photo corner on top of the lace.

6. Add the lace tape at the top and cut off any protruding edges.



7. Glue the two roses on both sides of the lace tape.

8. Glue the owl to the 3.1” x 2.4” copper colored cardstock.

9. Glue the owl embellishment to the front of the card.

10. Make a bow with the caramel cord and glue it in place above the photo corner.
